FAQs

Q: How long is a semester?

A: For the ongoing adult program, classes are year round. The year is split up into three semesters, four months each. Fall semester from September through December, Winter Semester from January through April, and Summer Semester from May through August.

Q: Can I start the program mid-semester?

A: Yes. You can start the program anytime, provided there is an opening available.

Q: How long is the adult program?

To complete the adult program, a student should finish all of the assignments in all four tracks: 1. Nature and Memory, 2. Imagination, 3. Human Form, and 4 Unique Voice. We will work on chipping away at each track similtaneously. It's anticipated that students will progress at their own pace. The exact amount of time will vary. We hope students will commit to attending for a few focused years. You may test out of individaul assignments if you can show you've done comparable assignments in the past. As currently structured, the curriculum is taught over a two year period and then begun again. Artists may begin the program at any time, starting with the assigments for week one and working forward. Since artists are working at their own paces, we are never completely in sync with each other, but close enough to be able to offer support and encouragement.

Q: Will models be nude in the adult figure classes?

A: Not always, but by default, yes. If you're unable to work from a nude model, this is not the right program for you.

Q: How does figure drawing work for distance learners?

A: Distance learners will need to locate and attend a figure drawing session near them if they are unable to attend the session at our Provo academy.

Q: When is tuition due?

A: Tuition may be paid monthly or by semester. We've mostly been using venmo, but that might change to a subscription billing program.

Q: How can I attend if enrollment is full?

A: Apply to attend, and we'll put you on the wait list. When an opening comes and you reach the top of the list, we'll reach out to you. Artists enrolled in the remote program are given priority over the general public when a local immersive spot opens up.

Q: Do I need an art degree to apply? Do I need a lot of experience?

A: Prospective students do not need a degree but should have talent, drive and a moderate amount of experience.

Q: Is this academy accredited? Will I earn a certification of some sort?

A: For the time being, no. Our priority is to retain the flexibility of schedule and curriculum which is precluded by accreditation. Students who finish the program will receive a document of completion.

Openings are limited. Apply soon to reserve your position.
